Dear colleagues and friends,

We have confirmed that only the challenges we are facing get the best out of us. And the greater the obstacles we encounter, the more significant and decisive our responses must be. In that sense, the creation of a professional medical journal in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic was a special challenge and a great responsibility. That is why the real question today is – what have we managed to achieve and what are we doing now in order to create the basis for further development of the magazine at a time when the pandemic is behind us.

There is the sixth issue of the journal “Medical word” in front of you, with papers on completely different topics, which shows that it has found its place in all branches of medicine and that all colleagues have recognized the importance of the written word. Of course, much more dedication, work, and knowledge will be needed to ensure continuity and the highest level of quality. The great strength of “Medical word” is in good understanding and cooperation, and the successful work during the pandemic showed the importance of this cooperation. Despite the numerous obstacles awaiting us, I believe that by working together we have created the conditions to look to the future with optimism.

Many thanks to all the authors, reviewers, and professional associates who helped us achieve success facing the unusual challenges.
